About me

Although I'm known for my baskets, I also bike, knit, sew, run, hike, kayak and I love birding!

I run year round and with winter temperatures in the teens, I needed a warm pair of mittens. Store bought mittens and gloves weren’t warm enough. I would typically wear three pairs on the coldest days so I decided to make my own. I shrunk four wool sweaters, made a pattern and sewed my first pair, lined with polar fleece. They were the warmest mittens ever!!

Then I made more, the holidays were coming! That turned into frequent trips to thrift stores hunting for wool sweaters which turned into a sewing room full of felted material. It became addicting - there are so many combinations of colors and patterns … So I started making them to sell, doing a few local VT craft shows in the fall and selling them through a few galleries. Customer keep coming back for more for family and friends!

The mittens are machine washable and dryable!

I sell my hats and mittens directly too. Email or call, I accept all credit cards and personal checks.

Look for me next year at the Peru Fair in September and the Newfane Heritage Festival in October.
